HammerAlert FAQ and support articles
Short answers to common questions about setting up HammerAlert — calendar subscriptions, email delivery, and account controls. New articles are added here rather than buried inside individual pages, so the same answer can be linked from anywhere.
How does the HammerAlert calendar work?
HammerAlert's public pages are for browsing one slice of the market at a time — one category, one region, or one house. The account product starts when you choose the categories, houses, and regions you care about and keep them together in one personal auction calendar.
The calendar itself is a live subscription URL. Copy it from the Calendar page and add it to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. Once subscribed, the calendar app refreshes that URL and keeps the sales in sync as your preferences change or when auction dates move.
The weekly digest is separate. It is an optional summary email with direct links back into HammerAlert. If you want one calendar that stays current, subscribe to the URL once and let that feed update in place.
Outlook for Mac does not seem to accept the HammerAlert subscription URL. What is the reliable way to add it?
Outlook for Mac's Add Shared Calendar option is designed for people and Exchange calendars inside your organisation, not public web (ICS) subscriptions, so the HammerAlert URL will not resolve there. The Import option does accept an ICS file, but it creates a static snapshot only — it will not update when your preferences change or when sale dates shift. Some Outlook for Mac builds do not expose a web-subscription URL field at all.
The reliable path is Outlook on the web:
- Sign in at outlook.office.com/calendar (work/school) or outlook.live.com/calendar (personal Microsoft account).
- Open Calendar → Add calendar → Subscribe from web.
- Paste the HammerAlert subscription URL from the Calendar page, name the calendar, and save.
The subscribed calendar then flows back into Outlook for Mac through your account, so new and changed auctions stay in sync automatically. If you are running Legacy Outlook for Mac, you may find a subscriptions entry point under File → Open → Subscribe to Calendar; that path works on some older builds. Importing the ICS file directly should be treated as a last-resort, snapshot-only workaround.

I did not receive a HammerAlert email. What should I do?
HammerAlert sends verification links, sign-in links, password resets, and digest emails from noreply@hammeralert.com. If one does not arrive, work through these steps before retrying:
- Wait a minute or two. Delivery is usually quick but can be delayed briefly by your mail provider.
- Check your Spam or Junk folder. First-time messages from a new sender are sometimes filtered there.
- Search your whole mailbox for HammerAlert — some clients route new senders to tabs like Promotions or Updates rather than the main inbox.
- Add noreply@hammeralert.com to your contacts or mark a previous HammerAlert email as Not spam. This helps future messages reach the inbox directly.
If you use a forwarded role address (for example a shared team alias that redirects to another mailbox), note that forwarding is handled by your own mail provider and is separate from HammerAlert's product email delivery. Account, sign-in, and digest emails are always sent to the address on your HammerAlert account. If that mailbox forwards elsewhere, check the final destination's Spam or Junk folder as well.
Still nothing after a few minutes? Request the link again from the sign-in page, double-check the email address for typos, and make sure your mailbox is not full or blocking external senders.
Still stuck?
Routine controls — change preferences, unsubscribe from email, regenerate the calendar subscription link, and delete your account — are all self-service and do not require contacting us. For anything that isn't covered by a FAQ article above, sign in and use the in-app feedback form; it attaches your message to your account so we can respond without a separate identity step.
